First of all, thanks for all the support this forum offers. I have become quite reliant on the 8N especially in the winter. When it does not operate as needed this soon to be Medicare recipient panics:)
With that being said, I got a new gasket for the 8N 3 point hydraulic top cover today. Want to make sure the torque specs for the cover are correct. The tractor parts person said it should be between 65-70 ft. lbs. Does this sound correct? Any and all thoughts are welcome.

I just looked in both my I-T FO-4 manuals and neither one has a torque for that. I then looked in my F)-20 which is for the 600/601/800/801 series etc and it has this for the lift cover on there series 45-65ft/lbs so I would think that would be closer then your figures but some one will probably chime in and agree or disagree

That is correct for unlubricated threads.

Thanks for the info. The bolts are definitely lubed. From what I could gather from other sources, 7/16ths lubed bolts should be about 45 ft. lbs. depending on grade. Sound good?

Yes - 45 for oiled threads.
