hi i just bought 1950 8n but will only run with the choke out
the guy just put a carb kit in it can someone tell me what my
be wrong and the sets for the two adjusment screws thanks

1950 as in the early 50 with front mount distributor or the later with side mount?? Can make a difference as to how to fix.
Also 6 or 12 volts??
This may sound wrong but check your spark and make sure it is a good blue/white and will jump a 1/4 inch gap or more. If you have that then pull the carb drain plug and let the fuel flow for a few minutes. Catch it so as to look for water/dirt etc.
As for carb seeing the idle screw which is close the the top of the carb set it at 1-1/2 turns out. The main jet set at 2 full turns out.
By the way just because a carb was rebuilt does not mean it was done so correctly and it could still have some junk in it clogging the main jety

assuming spark is good ( check ).. move on to fuel.

cound be real lean due to a vacume leak.. or plugged fuel flow.

drain fuel from carb into jar.. should continually pee a pencil stream. not drip.. check for at least 30-40 seconds to allow for draining carb bowl and fuel line.
