8N pto shaft

i tried pulling pto shaft to replace a leaking seal, but can't get it to pull out anymore than 1/2 inch. i've read about twisted pto shafts on here and am curious on the best way to get the shaft out. thanks for the help.

mjsnodgrass.........other than puttin' a tunafish can under yer leaky PTO to catch the drips, yer goin' to haffta SAW yer PTO out with electric sabersaw. Then FLUSH with kerosine or diesel to remove the chips. Then you will haffta drop yer flat hydraulic pump base to remove the remaining stub of the PTO. Flush again. Replace with modern 1-3/8" PTO shaft which contains new 4-bolt seal. Refill with 5-gals of M2C-134D hydro-tranny oil. Twisted PTO is caused by brushhoggin' without using an ORC. (over running coupler) naughty-naughty$$$

I saw a sign the other day, Harley's don't leak, they just mark their spot. ........Dell
