9n lift cylinder repair

Rebuilt the cylinder. Now what's the trick to getting the forks to line up so that the top plate will go back on???? Can't get the top of the housing to go in place, seems to be the forks that connect to the control arm???
Decided to try an old brake spring (seems to be about the same tension and length as the one I'm needing to replace)between the forks and the end of the cylinder.

I just straddle the tractor and put one arm in each inspection port and spread the fork and put it back on. Not easy. Hobo made a special tool for the task, perhaps you can search the archives for it.

Thanks to all, found a picture of a 9N cutaway on the internet as well. Now it seems fairly simple (not necessarily easy) to tell where they go and how they have to get there.
