on the engine block it say
8n, 47
8n-a,48
8n-b,48
8n-c, 51
8n-d, 51

now i found 8n-f now what that mean.. the 8n-d 51 has a loader and so does 8n-f 48 has a loader now what that mean..
beside i own a lot of tractor..

it me again.........it should be intuitively obvious that those are the "casting" numbers. Engine block cast in 1948, 1949, ...etc... the a, b, c, is the MONTH the engine was cast. (tip: there are 12-months to a year)

Has 'nuttin' to do with any loader.

All you really need to know is whether the engine has the weird 4-nipple frontmount dizzy ...or... the more common looking 5-nipple sidemount. You can count nipples, can't you??? .......respectfully, Dell

it me again........I answered your questions about casting numbers. I don't care when the 8N had front-mount dizzys or side-mount dizzys 'cus I can count. Simple, eh? ........respectfully Dell
