The problem you see with your one front wheel being closer to the spindle arm is due to the wheelbearing nut not being tight enough so that the rear wheel bearing turns on the spindle shaft and wears it. This causes the wheel to creep in towards the Spindle arm. My brother and I both have tractors that this has happened to from previous owners not keeping the nuts tight. You can confirm this with a caliper or micrometer and you will find that the wheel that is closest to the spindle arm will have a spindle shaft diameter smaller that the good wheel.

Mr. T, the photo below was posted on the forum before.
I believe it was John Smith's, hopefully he doesn't mind me reposting it.

It shows the sizes of the spindles so you can measure them.

Thanks for the explanation. Will this require a new spindle? Hope not. As I explained to one forum member, it appeared that the nut had been worked over. Previous owner actually filed extra space for the cotter key. It also seemed that the nut had to be threaded in quite a ways. Ordered new bearings today from Yesterday's Tractor Parts. Any other thoughts are welcome!!

they did that to get it down further probably. I've seen custom washers made and all.. etc.

checkt he spindle out.. look at the bearings and hub.. sometimes hte bearings will be worn slap out.. see if the spindle is tracked..
