A-guy, There is no "play" vertically or horizontally. That was one of the first things I checked. I have also checked for play within the axle extension. There was no play there either. As Soundguy suggested I have very worn bearings. An added observation is that the nut holding in the hub looked modified for some reason. Will do as Soundguy suggested and replace the bearings.
