Advance Auto Parts counter person suck today
when did they start call a starter solenoid a starter relay
but would a regular truck 12 volt ford solenoid work on 800 ford 12 volt starter?

BWD # S54,S601 or S613 .
Take a look at those. One of them should be a match.

most places call the part that just handles the electric the relay, and if it is one of those that throw the bendix out, then a solenoid..e tc..

No, a regular solenoid won"t work on your tractor.You have to get one that the ground is on one of the small posts.The truck solenoid is grounded at the body of the solenoid.
