Anyone done this??

Forum Members,
Ordered a drag link for my 8N from Yesterday's Tractor Parts. They sent the wrong drag link-right hand threaded instead of left hand threaded. They quickly sent the correct part-no charge. I appreciated the customer service.
Went to replace the drag link and found I had to cut about a half inch off of the tie rod sleeve to bring it into alignment. I also cut the drag link shorter allowing it to fit into the sleeve. I did not want to get into the steering wheel mechanism adjustments. Play in the steering has lessened by 75%. Any thoughts on my solution.

The steering sector adjustment isn't nearly as hard as it sounds. But making or modding parts works too.

2 unrelated issues.

modding a incorrect length part is not related to adjusting out sector backlash slop.

2 different things.
