Picked up a Ford, engine SN is 9N 154023, is this a 9N or a 2N, Not that familiar with the older N series. Thanks for any inf and Happy New Year

That is an engine ser.# for a 1944 2N.
9N, and 2N's ser#'s all start with 9N.

Just for your information you know there is a serial number list on the left side under Research and info on the left and if you go to fords then the 9N/2N and see where your number fit you could have found that out for your self. One of those teach a man to fish and feed him his lift time things. Also depending on things you may also have a mutt. But having a mutt can be real hard to know for sure
