Plowing snow question

I forgot which way to do this. I"m pulling the blade through the snow on gravel. Do I want my top link lengthened or shortened to change the angle on the mull board for ease of plowing?

Just play with the length till ya get what ya want.

Shorten your top link to roll the blade forward, which will dig in less. Lengthen the top link if you want to dig in more (which will drag more gravel). As already said, adjust to suit your conditions.

You may also find it more productive to swing your blade around and plow in reverse.

If its a light snow, I pull. Heavy snow, I push backwards.

i plow mostly gravel..i put tractor on level ground..using chains on arms..adjust the plow to barely touch ground..you wont dig gravel, unless there is a mound..phil

I have done a bit of testing on pushing and pulling the snow....thats WHEN I SEE It!
By making the top link longer, it will dig more as mentioned, but with snow on "smooth" streets or driveways - it allows the snow to curl and roll out from the blade, working kinda like a large one bottom plow, shorter top link and you are making the snow roll back in front of the blade and thus pushing it more and more. Like said already, heavy stuff needs to be pushed in reverse, light stuff can be pulled and thrown with the horz angle and long top link.
As for gravel, flip the blade around and go in forward, rolls the gravel and will not dig, great for when you want to move just the top layer and not dig.
