carb help needed

I'm working on rebuilding the carb for my 8n and while blowing it dry after a couple days in the tank I blew the little filter/drain out of the bottom of the bowl and can't find it or the star that holds it in. does anyone know were I can buy them?
Thanks
Dave L.

As far as the filter material is concerned I posted a similar question a few months back and was told to use felt or a similar cloth and just stuff in and pop the cup back in , I still had the cup sounds like you need that as well I can't help with that but maybe others here can.

Just thought I would add I have an original repair manual for the 2n and it states that the original material is course hair so I joked that I would cut off a little of my wifes hair, the response was definetly don't do that best to use your own.

Go get a new felt brake dust seal to fit an 8n. Cut off about 1/2" and stuff it into that hole. Put the retainer back in and you're done. You'll have enough of that felt left over to service about 30 more carburetors, or use what is left to seal up the draft at the bottom of your front door.

Just 8n's has them... are if you can find the retainer a cigaret butt will work...

A cigarette butt? Those things are in rather short supply anymore, unless of course you go out and buy a pack of cigarettes, and if you only need one butt, wouldn't it be less costly to buy a brake dust seal kit?

Gary, My 241b spare has what appears to be a cindered bronze waffler in the hole. Have you seen this or is it someones idea for a fix?

Used butts are cheap...
