| Do not know if it like it is here but local gun shops seem to be opening up in many places. In just the last year or 2 at least 2 new ones have open in my area and one sells reloading supplies which is very nice since I reload a good number of rounds. Also since John is now at home he seems to enjoy helping me reload and we have done a few hundred rounds in the last month or so. Found a hand gun that if I had the $420 for I would buy since it uses the same ammo as the M-1 carbine I have uses |

Would that handgun be a Ruger Blackhawk .30 cal? If that's what you're talking about, they are good guns but very very loud. |

| I did not look at it all that close after I saw the price tag knowing I could not afford to buy it but yes maybe. Of course it would be a lot less gun then my 44mag is |

I can think of very few places you would need a .44 mag. If you were in grizzly country it would be a good side arm.
Most of the time is just depends on how good you are with a gun. A .22 will kill a person just as dead as a .44 mag and a whole lot cleaner. Lot's of people will buy a hand cannon like a .44 mag but they can't really control it or hit anything with it. They just like that feeling of power. Besides most people can't afford to shoot one unless they reload.
I do have a .44 mag Vaquero but I usually shoot .44 specials in it. Same with my .357's. For plinking and target shooting I shoot .38 specials. Being over 65, I just don't have the need for them big wrist busters any more.
The younger crowd seems to get their jollies shooting those hand cannons, as far as I'm concerned they can have them.
I have about a dozen handguns. Only one of them is a semi auto and that's just for self defense. It's a Beretta 92FS. The rest of them are single actions. I like shooting single actions better than the semi autos. I don't need to stand there spraying out lead like I'm cranking a vegamatic. Each to his own. |

| This 44mag I have is well balanced and is not you run of the mill 44mag. I will not post the serial number on a public forum like this but lets just say your not likely to ever see a gun of any brand or make with this low a number. It is a 6 shooter single action and I use it for deer hunting and have taken more then one with it over the years. I also have another less common hand gun. It is a Tokarev M1930. Year made is 1941 and it to has a fairly low serial number at under #600. Then I also have this little 22 short 6 shooter Rohm is the brand on it. But I do collect firearms and reload lot also |

Still a little curious about your .44 mag. Is it a Ruger? Super Blackhawk maybe? |
