An "Eight Oil Change" Saturday

No pics this time, but I bet at least some of you can relate... as the lawn and garden are officially done for the year, it's time to clean everything up and tuck it away until next Spring.

For me, that means filling seven small engine gas tanks up with stabilized gas and then running them 5-10 minutes to get the stabil through the carb and warm up the oil for changing.

It's quite the cacophony of sound!

Once done (and cooled down), everything gets pressure washed and parked in the back of the machine shed for the winter.

Oh, engine number eight was my 8N—but that one stays close to the door with the backblade ready for the first good snowfall!

A guy could get a little light-headed, with all THAT exhaust!!!! LOL

We've had three snows already, but every time it snows....the rain, washes it away.......What a muddy mess!!!!
Snow cake ain't doin' so very good! :(

Have a Great winter!!!

Sounds familiar Ed, but then I add in the "removing batteries" part.
Where on earth am I supposed to keep all these batteries where they
won't freeze?!?!?
Maybe I should start a post about that!

I generally keep all 4 of my 12 volt. equipment batteries in the basement on a solar trickle charger.

I can always use one or so for the 12 volt. lighting backup in the house. Sorta romantic on those cold snowy evenings having the 12 volt lamps glowing.

Hey, that's not a bad idea on the batteries... I've always left 'em in, and usually have to jump start at least one come spring.

I did get a couple float chargers to leave on the 8N and AC 190, since those will get used over the winter, and are always needed worst when the temps are sub-zero.

So happens, I have a couple of windows in the basement, above ground level.

I simply attach the solar charger on the inside of the WEST window. Good voltages all day long.

HTH.

PS. Then when I go on a road trip later in the Spring thru FALL, I mount the solar panel on the inside of the rear window of my "service van". THOSE DARN BRIGHT LIGHTS in the rear view mirror always keep my 12 volt system charged.
