GN or other carb guys

Howdy. Long time no post. I got my 46 2N running the other day.(new wire from a voltage reducer to black can in front.) Carb was taken off and cleaned and put back on. Now the gas has been in quite a while (last winter to be exact, so I put fresh gas in on top. it had the enzyme stuff in too.) (took the sediment bowl off and cleaned that too.) Now at full throttle it wants to spit and sputter, so I open the gas tank and blow in to make pressure and behold it runs like a top. So where do I start? Sediment bowl, line to carb, or the carb itself? Or????

Well I would start by pulling the carb drain plug and let the gas flow for a few minutes. Catch the gas to look for dirt/water/rust. If you do not have a good steady flow of gas work your way back till you find what is clogged up

Maybe your gas cap is not venting so it is causing a vacuum and slowing down fuel flow - on mine I drilled a very small hole in the cap to ensure that does not happen - have you removed the elbow going into the carb and checked that the small filter in there is not plugged up?

Try opening up the big high speed needle a round and see if that helps.

Sounds to me like the fuel in the tank has gone bad!! Sitting in the tank for that long, with-out use, there is also, probly condinsation/water, sitting at the tank bottom.

Putting new gas into old gas is a sure way to turn the good gas to bad. I would drain and flush the entire fuel sys. I would disassemble the carb and clean it.Doing anything LESS will just snowball your problem. Gas today can and will turn on you in about 90 days. I had some with the so called magical potion sta-bil in it and it went bad. No short cuts here if infact you had bad gas to start with, Gas goes bad because the propane molecules have dissipated, Good Luck
