Mounting the gas tank

I'm ready to mount a new gas tank in the hood of my '48 8n.
After putting the web strap between the tank and cross brace; How tight should the castle nuts be?
Thanks.

Bob 5/16-24 x 5/8, 10 - 15 ft. LBS dry is tight enough.20-30 would strip the threads or twist them off.Originally had castle nuts with a cotter key.

Bob, I never heard of a web strap, is this something new? I've got 7 "N" tractors , mine all mount with lip of the tank on top of the front cross brace and the rear of the tank on the under the rear cross brace. I usually turn my hood upside down to remove the tank. Please explain the web strap, thanks

Sorry I took so long to get back to everyone that answered my post. Been busy.
On this site under fuel system parts in the Ford 9,2, and 8n parts section. Part num. = FTW494 Black nylon fuel tank webbing. 3 ft piece.
My old tank had the remnants of strapping between the tank and hood cross brace when I took it off. I bought this piece to put back on with my new tank. I figure it protects the tank from vibration and cushions it from hood flex. I didn't think the bolts would be so tight that the tank wouldn't be allowed some movement. Thanks again for responding.
