How do I keep my 5" grader blade in the ground and not just drag about the top and move no dirt? Which mounting hole do I use on the tractor for the "third arm". There are three differnt ones. Also, the draft control lever on the right side under the seat seems to make no difference either. |

| Why do people post questions here and then they don't come back for the answers or to give additional info if requested to answer their question? |

Most likely a 'back blade.'
Jajpkj, Our N tractors have no down pressure so you have to set the angle of attack right or you'll just skim along the surface. |

| I'm wondering what you mean by "grader blade"? Is it just a single blade or a closed in box blade? A picture of your set up would go a long way here? |

| jajpkj.........it takes a little bit of GEOMETRY to visualize how lengthening the top-link will cause the blade to "curl" more to pick-up more dirt. Howsomevers, more WEIGHT on the blade is even more successful. The "flush" handle under under yer right kneezie is UP for position (brush-hogging) and horizontal for draught (plowing) control. The draft control was very sophisticated for 1939. When the BIG SPRING under yer butt-buckett was compressed by HARD DIRT, the internal hydraulics would "lift" the plow a little bit and reduce the inherent DRAG of the plow moving thru the dirt. Otherwize yer ag-bar tires would spin-out and loose traction. Me? I'd try yer flush handle both ways and see what pleases me the most. ........plowman Dell |

| Well that"s an easy question. Like you, I have a fine 1951 8N that runs like it was 1952. If I had a 5 inch blade I"d pull it aroung and install electric line and water all over the place. Thank you for the reply. Don Deerfield, Ohio |
