I got the fan belt out of the way before I removed the fan and pump. It is a 5/8 inch belt and was only a couple years old and is in good shape. I was wondering about using gasket grease and have a tube... pump side only! I hope I don't have to replace the studs. I've heard of someone having to do that but most have reported it was not necessary. I'm not sure how to even do that. Still would like advise on whether to join the fan to the pump BEFORE installation or install them separately. Bolting the fan to the pump before installing seems like it would be a lot easier.
