Thank you for all the replies and help. The part was in the back of the oil pan on the wet side. It was not in the part of the oil pan that is dry and is part of the bell housing. The oil pan looks fine. There are no holes etc. The part was stuck to the bottom of the oil pan by sludge. I was able to break it loose with my fingers. The part was pretty well oxidized like it had been there for a long time. I was not able to find the piece that was broken off. Also notice that the part is deformed quite a bit. | Regardless of where you found it, that is part of the starter drive. There is no part internal to that engine that looks like that. If these tractors could only talk! |
