Forum Members, Recently purchased an 8N from a friend. Included in the package was an extra carb. As far as I can figure the bronze stamped area has a possible TS above 241 ? at the bottom, and a 831 off to the right. It looks a lot like a MS that is on the 8N. It appears to have been painted blue. Is this compatible with an early 8N tractor? If not, what does it fit? Any info appreciated! Mr. T. Minnesota |

| | Mr T.........the M/S 241B is the BEST carb fer ALL the 8N tractors. (4-nipple frontmount or 5-nipple sidemount, surprizingly enuff, 9N/2N's also) Carb don't care blue paint, red paint, grey paint. Just make certain the airfilter oil cup is full to line. How to tune has been posted MANY TIMES. I set the down-pointing MAIN jet to 2-turns and LEAVITT!!! .......I adjust the side-pointing IDLE mix for FASTEST idle NOT smoothest idle. Understand the difference??? Last time I adjusted my eazy starting 6-volt 52-8N, the idlemix was 1/4-turn. Yours should be similar. Remember, the side-pointing idle is BASSACKWARDS, out fer lean, IN fer ENRICH. ........HTH, Dell |

| The TSX 241 A,B,C where all carbs used on the N series tractor so it is most likely one of the 3 so yep should in fact be an N series type carb |
