Kicking Yourself in the Butt

Don"t you hate it when you don"t do something and then kick youself in the butt for it?

I went to an auction over the weekend and when I got there, they had a tranny out of an 8N with the sherman (don"t know which type) that hadn"t been listed in the sale bill. The auctioneer nor the family knew anything about it; history, condition, etc. Well I thought about bidding on it, but they began selling it before I had a chance to look it over so I didn"t know the condition of it, or even what to look for for that matter but I was seriously considering making the purchase simply for the fact that if I could get it cheap enough, it would still be well worth it even if it needed some work.

Auctioneer started it at $20...no takers; he dropped down to $10 and two fellas jumped in and went to town. The way they were bidding, I was pretty confident it was going to go for more than I was willing to pay, so I sat back and watched 'er sell for $32.50. I was kicking myself all day for letting it go and not bidding...oh well, thats how it goes I guess, nobody"s fault but my own, huh.

Yep BTDT many times and have lost some real good deals but then you also never know what would have happened if you had say gone to $35 one of the other guys may have jumped up a good bit higher. I let a loader that fit a Farmall cub go by me. It sold for a great big price of $7 but at the same auction I did buy a manure spreader for $5
