I have a '50 8n with front mount distributor.

Gotta replace the exhaust manifold. I've got three of the nuts off,
but can't get at the last one behind the generator. Anybody know
any tricks to get at that without messing with the generator?

Thanks

take the genny off.

if you are scared about taking a belt off or another couple bolts.

go ahead and save some hassle and sell the tractor now and plan to do all the yard and pasture work by hand.

tip:

get a GOOD set of gloves!

arent they all a helpful bunch you will prbably
have to take the gen off. but remember copper coat or never seize on re-assembly. someone in the future will appeciate it. far too little is used in assembly of new equipment nowadays i could tell you never ending horror stories of 5 year old equipment.ifyou have further tractor prblems contact me i grew up in a tractor wreckage started in 1953, probably backed up more than your buddies drove ahead.do you know what gin poles are ?

it's a realitively easy project turned hard by not taking the gen off.

thus logic and common sense says to take gen out of way.

this doesn't have to be complicated....

do you know what gin poles are ?

It is a tall slender glass for Gin and tonic water. lol

Or it could be a couple drunken Pollocks.

Or it could be an old winch truck with tall boom poles on it.

" arent they all a helpful bunch"

Well yes, as a matter of fact, they are. Both answered his question. You didn't.

I see that Soundguy has a post count of 45,000 & Tom has over 4,100.

You, on the other hand, have a post count of 0.

Yes, I believe Tom & Soundguy are pretty helpful.
