Grapeview8n 10-12-2012 20:54:12 50.46.26.179 Report to Moderator	Our Dalmatian, only 6 years old, came with us on a 5 hour trip to see our grand boys. She was fine, came in to see the boys, had a siezure and died in our arms. I tried CPR etc, but to no avail. Don't know why I'm telling you all. Guess I just need some sympathy. It won't be the same working the place with the 8n not having her to keep track of me. [Reply]   [No Email]

I am sure that the suddenness of it makes it so much worse. I lost my Golden Retriever in April, three months shy of his 15th birthday. While he had been quite healthy, we knew he was on borrowed time. He wasn't feeling well on his last day, and I felt sure when I went to bed that he'd either wake up the next morning feeling much better, or not wake up at all. My wife and I spent a bit of extra time with him giving him our love before we went to bed that night. I have had a dog every one of my 62 years and as I get older they get harder to part with. A new pup will not replace the one you lost, but it will find room in your heart where it can set up shop and help you through the pain of loss. My current best friend is a border collie / german shepherd cross. We waited months after our old brittany stopped running to get a new dog from the pound - a mistake I will not repeat - the new pup really does help heal the wound. [Reply]  [No Email]

There is no greater love than a dog you just finished raising your voice at for doing something bad and they come back and lick you in the face!! I "ve buried 4 in the last 18 years and my oldest (12 in December) is slowing down! I can only hope she"ll die when my daughter"s home from school, would hate to have to call her and tell while she"s at school. You are blessed not having to watch her suffer from some disease and see her deteriorate before your eyes. We had to put down a beloved companion after 11 years due to kidney disease about 2 years ago. Bailey was a shelter dog that we got as a pup and she was a fantastic companion. Even though we have now adopted 2 new shelter dogs we still miss Bailey every day. I am sorry for your loss and can relate to the heartbreak that you and your family feel. 36 coupe 10-13-2012 03:59:03 66.186.169.176 Report to Moderator	Re: OT: dog died today in reply to Grapeview8n, 10-12-2012 20:54:12   My Border Collie died at 9 years old.Had him to 3 vets.I went out the next day and got a Border Collie pup.Thats the best cure for a lost dog.A pup will keep you busy and take you mind off the lost dog.My first Border Collie had a siezure but recovered.You have to be careful about a dogs food.Some feeds are loaded with bone meal that is undigestable.My dog stays in the house with us and is allowed on the couch.He has a dog bed in our bed room and wakes me every morning.Get a new pup and give it a good home, thats the best thing you can do.
