Hello all, I am trying to find some information on how to replace the little steel ball in the throttle control lever. Mine is totally worn down. I have seen some information on this before but haven"t been able to find any information in the archives. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

There is a 'kit' for that problem- maybe avilable here in "tractor parts". Allegedly, the ball can be 'rotated' for longer life. Would take a deft hand , a SHARP center punch/drift and some careful application with a mallet - NOT a BFH !

You will probably need to replace the plate as well.

I replaced the plate on mine and rotated the ball. I preferred the feel of detents over the slide of a worn out plate.

I went to the hardware store with the throttle lever in hand. Bought a ball bearing just a bit too big and gently knocked it in with a hammer. Squeezed the sides together a bit and I was done. Less than a buck.
