Putting some new points on Ol'Smokey today.
The faces on the points don't match up very well.
Any tricks to aline them up?
The points are "BWD" from O'Reilly.

.

Thats just it, There is not anything bendable on them. The top piece
that moves with the lobes is some kind of fiber material. The
bottom one can't bend up and down. Its fixed on the base.

Maybe putting a washer under the fixed point would do something for you or just the opposite. Sorry, I am not much help, just feel talkative.

I am not familiar with "BWD" points. Standard Ignition "Blue streak" points are the best for a front mount but are very expensive. This site sells them. Echlin points from NAPA would be my second choice. I would get a spare pair of Blue Streak or Echlin points for when your "BWD" points fail. It may be after 4 hours or four years but it is always good to have a spare pair for when the time comes.

I have a tool some where that was used to bend the stationary point. It was a common thing to check point surface alingnment before you put new points in.
