8N 131343 fired up today for the first time in 30 years. Engine sounds great except for a little metal on metal contact between the fan and shroud. Fresh oil in tranny and engine along with a truckload of new parts and wiring.
Should've fired up before this but couldn't get consistent spark. I replaced a Tisco aluminum backing plate in the distributor with one from an old 8N that a neighbor had and now we got them big fat white sparkies that gets Dell all warm and fuzzy.
Gonna get 'er back together and run 'er for a while and see what else is needed before I tear it down for painting. :)

Oops! pictures didn't load in the order I wanted.
The first and fourth pictures are when I loaded it up to bring it home. Kind of sad looking isn't it?
The second and third pictures are after I found some wheels and tires for the back end. Just getting wheels on the back made it look a whole lot better.
With the new exhaust system; I learned about the concept of "Chinese almost right...kind of" parts. I now have a whole list of "good" part numbers I got off of this site.

Congratulations, Nice to hear that some people realize the res erection of history. I too am in the process of getting one started that sat for 26 years, I've had it fire several times , still not quite running though, just waiting to install a new starter. I hope to it running by the weekend.I just got a few other priorities to do before I can get back working on it. Mine is a 1945 2N with a newer 1951 sidemount distributor , just haven't got the timing quite right.
