Did anyone else know that the new 6 volt starter solenoids have a start button on it? I was wondering what the button on the solenoid was when the 12v solenoids didn't have it. Of course, it makes sense what it does, just wondering when they appeared. My older ones don't have it. The last 2 I bought from TSC in the last year or 2 have had it. 1 button was black, 1 was silver. HTH DON TX |

| Installed on an 8N starter it would be easy to lean on or have a newby hit it at the wrong time. It sticks straight up. I installed this one on a TE 20 where it attaches under the battery box and out of the way. DON TX |

| I had one from TSC with the start button.
I had the key off doing a compression test and the solenoid stuck.
Engine/starter just kept rolling over. |

| Ford started using the solenoid in 1937.My 36 had been converted to a solenoid when I got it.The Naa and 600 series used the same solenoid as the 37 to 48 Ford cars and trucks. The button came in handy when doing valve work. |

| The one on my 50 6v 8N doesn't have the button. It can be handy but could be dangerous if accidentally hit at the wrong time. DON TX |
