Anything is possible but the early flatheads have the bellhousing cast as part of the block and do not work with the conversion kits which use an adaptor plate which is about 2" ? thick .

The old flatheads have about 8" - 10" of cast in bell housing and the N blocks have about 2" where the newer motors have none . So a 2" extension or adaptor fills the void area when installing a newer motor .

24 stud flatheads and flat sixes work well .

So, what you are saying is "Year of engine" makes a difference when doing the conversion - only sayin' because there is a lot of V-8 Flatties in 'N' Fords out there. Makes sense though. IIR, there are/was more than 1 current Mfg. of the kits. Google is your pal (except when you cant figure out what - how to ask).
