When installation valve guides with new seals, pieces of the seals sheared off. How is the best way to keep this from happening?Thanks for any help Bob |

| Remember that you only need the seals on the intake valves. Most engine rebuild kits give you 8 seal so you have 4 extra to use if you mess several up before you get the hang of it. The exhaust valves have the groove for the seal but since there is no suction when the valve is open they would server no purpose. If fact I installed seals on the exhaust valves when I did a if frame rebuild. Twenty years later when I did a full rebuild the seals had shrunk to almost nothing. The intake seals were still good. Grease is your friend when installing seals. |

| BJones.What I do Is use a dab of silicone dielectric grease on them,even chassis grease will work.Put some around the hole bores,then some on the oring before putting them in.Don't over stretch them when putting them on the guides,Kinda roll them on with a pocket screwdriver keeping them straight. |

| Oh and if some small pieces got cut off it won't hurt any thing any way.They will still seal. |
