carefact0rzero 08-21-2012 14:49:31 64.53.5.226 Report to Moderator	Hey everyone, I purchased an electronic ignition for my 8n (side mount distributor) and the unit that I received will not fit on my distributor, but I have verified that it is the correct part for my tractor, meaning that somewhere down the line, someone put a different distributor on the tractor. I"m wondering if anyone knows which different distributors could have been used, and where I should be able to find a part number on the distributor to find out exactly what it is. I couldn't find a part number anywhere on that distributor and I've been looking online for hours, and I cannot find a reference that would tell me what the part number would be. Prestoilte made replacement distributors for many engines, same top, different lower housing & shafts/gears. As I said, call Pertronix and ask for Paul or Carl. Toll free number. [Reply]  [No Email]
