I am working on repairing my clutch and several here have mentioned replacing the front transmission seal. I have a Sherman transmission and have it out. Picture attached. Do I need to replace the seals in between the sherman and the plate (there was not one there when I removed it) or do I need to remove the spacer plate and replace the seal behind it. Also what about the access door should I get a seal for that as well? |

| Dan_dman30,There is only one front seal and it is in the flanged bell that is bolted on the front of the sherman that the throw out bearing slides on.Has a seal pressed inside of it that seals the shaft off.It uses the same seal as the original flange uses.In the back it uses gaskets between the plate, sherman and tractor transmission.replace them also while in there to stop leaks. |
