I"ve been cutting this ground for 34 years. It"s not getting any smoother! Is there a better seat that really works? From where? |

| Thanks again Gents. I think my local NH store and TSC have the same seat at about the same price. I like that seat and it saves shipping and sending it back if something goes wrong. |

| | if not looking for originality, hit a farm store and get a nice padded seat with back and arm rests. usually about 100$ and easilly adapts to the 2 bolt mounting on your ford. if wanting originality a bit.. hit a rest-o-ride.. they are easiest to find.. |

| | My 8N has the Monroe E-Z-Ride & it's the best of my little bunch. You can see here I modified it a bit for my height & weight....
The other Ford has a Rest-O-Ride which is good since I installed new springs, just not quite as E-Z. :-) |

| | Try Steiner tractor parts. I think it's part #IHS347....I'd post a link, but this site won't let me. Jeff |

| | This is the seat I like to use. It bolts right on and has adjustable suspension and can be set back further which I find more comfortable. Mark http://www.ytmag.com/TS1075ATSP_24289.htm |

| All 3 of my 8N's and the 740 have Rest-O-Ride seats. They were OEM on the 100 series. They will cost you less than $100 on eBay & will need to be rebuilt for another $150 or so. |

If you could find an aftermarket Monroe seat, it would be a huge improvement, but not too many of those were ever installed on the N series Fords, so you'll need to start hunting for a used one. New Monroe seats have not been produced for several years, although repair parts are readily available.
Only other option I know of is one of those high dollar units that would require some engineering to make it fit. |

| There are a good number of aftermarket seats for these tractors. This site I know has some as will any good farm and home and even a dealer. Each can be good bad or some place between. |
