The post about the home made gas gauge reminded me. Not long after I bought my 8N I changed the shut off valve and flushed the tank. I then took a flashlight and looked inside out of curiosity . There in the tank was a knock off "Bowie "knife about 8 or 9 inches long. I bent a piece of thin flat stock and attached a magnet and retrieved it.Anybody else ever find any treasures ??? |

| I had an old International fire truck at a logging project on our land. One day it wouldn't start - no fuel. Looked in the tank and it was full of dirt, rocks, sticks, and fir needles. I later found out that my neighbors daughter didn't like it that I wasn't leaving the forest "natural." |

| We bought a 53 chevy truck. The PO had left the gas cap off. Every so often "nogas to carb". Blew on line and could hear gurgling in tank. It would run good then do it again. Problem was "hornet bee part" would get sucked up and block gas line. Charles Krammin SW MI |

| I found what was left of an old bottle brush in the gas tank of a Farmall M.
It had some duct tape on the handle.
All I can think of is that someone was trying to clean some blockage to cure a fuel flow problem with it taped to a stick and it came off. |
