8N My oil pump is great, I have cleaned out all the oil lines to filter and to the oil pressure gauge. I still have no oil pressure, in fact oil does not make it to the filter can. Could it be the spring and plunger that screwes into the front of the engine? Is the spring supposed to fit tight onto the plunger at the top. When I push the spring onto the plunger it will no longer slide on the plunger stem. Any ideas? thanks, Basil

I think Bruce has it covered. Prime the pump and spin it over.

Obviously you don't want to run it long with no oil pressure.

You can spin it over with a 12v jump directly to the starter, in NEUTRAL, key off until you see oil pressure on the gauge.

The oil pump and pick up tube has to be istalled prior to putting the oil pan on. How do I prime the pump? Can I pour oil down through the governor opening where the oil line connection is to prime it? Thanks, Basil

as long as the springcan push theplunger in, it should be at least showing on the gauge. prime the pump with some thick oil and slap the plunger in and start cranking.
didn't change out the front main cap without a line bore did you?
