Just changed carborator, and when pulling the disc, tractor stutters, backfires and has no power. Don't know what to do.... |

| Tom........gonna need more info. 6-or-12V, last time you changed yer points (0.015") keep yer itchy-twitchy fingers off'n them handy-dandy carb tweek'ums. You do know ittza 2-bolt, 15-min job to remove yer weird 4-nipple front mount dizzy to change and adjust the points (0.015") on the kitchen table, don't you? Just un-snapple yer capple and letter dangle. Installation is a reversal of the removal ...except... finger start yer 2-bolts and then install yer rotor while rotating the rotor until the OFF-SET tang drive fits the OFF-SET camshaft drive slot. Now tighten yer 2-bolts and re-snapple yer capple. Simple, eh? Remember to "polish" the INVISIBLE corrosion from between the points before installation. Me? I clamp a clean $1-bill between the points and pull. Iff'n yer really cheap, tear a strip of HEAVY brown paper grocery sack and use that. .........Dell, yer memory challenged sparkie-meister |

| 12v, changed coil and points (adjusted points to .015 ) All new. Tractor runs good while in idle or not under a load. New carborator installed. |

| | Tom........didja know that the N-Engine is SOOOooo GOOOoood that it will run on just 2-sparkies but won't have enny power just as you complain??? Usually nuebie shadetree mechanics swap sparkies 3&4. Starts eazy but NO power to pull. Didja know that yer NEW carborator does NOT come adjusted right outta the box??? Set yer down-pointing main jet to 2-turns and LEAVITT!!! Adjust yer side-pointing idlemix for FASTEST idle, NOT SMOOTHEST idle. Understand the difference??? The side-pointing idlemix is BASSACKWARDS, out fer lean, IN fer ENRICH. Last time I adjusted my eazy starting 6V-8N Marvel/Schebler carb, the side-pointing idlemix was 1/4-turn. Yers should be simular. ........respectfully, Dell sparkie-meister |

| Checked plugs. Tractor runs fine until I try to pull the disc. Then loses power. Just installed a new carburetor. That's when the trouble started. |

| Does choking it help or hurt it?? If it helps your running to lean if it hurts your running to rich and either one will cause power loss. Also check your air cleaner it is the most neglected part of most tractors. If it is full of dirt or water or low on oil it can cause funny problems |

| Will it take gas when you give it throttle quickly? If not, try turning your main adjustment needle on the carburetor OUT(CCW)1/4 turn then try to give it gas Fast--if it takes gas good when going quickly from idle to fast, you should see it perform different under load. |
