Wonder if it will fit a Jubilee? I like the vertical orientation.

That looks really well made I bought one that the filter screws on the side. It is made well and uses same holes as the canister, but I found out from this site the orifice is to big. I took it back off and drilled an tapped for a 8x32 screw. cut the head of screw and drilled a .062 hole slotted it for screwdriver. I screwed it in with a little red loctite this raised my OP about 5lbs.

Ok, I bought one of these. Very well made and bolts right up with original fittings. Looks good too.

Very nice workmanship. I like to see folks that recognize a problem and find a good solution to it.

Now if he just made one for a 20HP Kohler twin I would be all set.

Neat piece of work. Must work for free and no depreciation on
the CNC for that price!

Do you prime the full flow oil filter on your cars and trucks? For all practical purposes it's a non-issue either way.

I don't read it as they claim you'll destroy your engine if you don't prime the filter. Plus, on an N, it's not as critical since it's a bypass filter. It's just a nice added feature of orientating the filter that way. I wouldn't get hung up on it.

That aside, when the orientation allows, filters should be primed prior to installation. Per Cummins:

"Fill the oil filters with clean lubricating oil when changing the engine oil to ensure immediate bearing lubrication when restarting the engine. Failure to pre-lube the oil filter may cause bearing damage."

Don't forget the free shipping .

I like the old style canisters myself but I give kudos to a man making an upgrade basically free ( minimum wages even ?) and helping the hobby for the rest of us . Reminds me of that nice guy from windy ridge farms .

Zero would be my guess. Remember the oil goes through the bearings by a totally different route. Only "excess" oil that doesn't go through the bearings goes through the filter and that is via the 1/16" restrictor passage in the OEM filter canister.

As for price that chunk of aluminum would cost me $20 before I ever made the first chip and the little JIC adapter another $5.

Bruce, did you forget to use the "sarcasm font"?

I have a parts tractor out here with a spin on adapter I've been meaning to take off.

At $40 each maybe I'll use it as a pattern and have some made.

I'm glad to see that it is "orientated" correctly.

And I wonder how many N engines I've ruined because I didn't " "prime" the oil filter by filling with oil prior to installation".

Would the priming be an issue with other tractors? If he makes these for other types he might be just assuming an N is the same
