TSC now carries new brand, valspar used to be there and in hdwe stores, ford light gray is gray...want the Ford french vanilla color, the creamy 'white'...Did take home IH white, and it's bright, but, too white for me.

Does anyone know if the paint on this site is the one I want? Trying to be close to original...

Or, am I wrong about the french vanilla color and was stock more like the Valspar/TSC light grey?

The only Fords I know of with the light, light gray - almost white - were the 65 and later 3 cyl Tractors. Is that what you are looking for?
We've been using the Valspar light Ford
Gray but can still get it at Fleet Farm. It is slightly darker than original but I do like it with the Blue.

I used the TSC "house brand" and found it too light as you said. Using a little black and yellow enamel paint, I tinted mine until it was close to the under side of my hood (which still had some of the original color left). If you try this, remember that a little tint goes a long way, and that wet paint looks lighter than dry. Mix in your tint, then paint a small test patch in a non-visible location and let it dry so you see if you like it or not.

No, my 1948 8N had a creamy, french vanilla kind of more yellow/beige than that light grey. I can take that color, its not that, I don't mind it, I was just wondering if from the factory it was more that light grey or the more beige color?

been quite a few years, but the paint from this site
I once bought for a NAA was very light gray.
almost an off white. Tisco I think it was. looks good.

The CNH gray I use now is a much darker olive color.
(not as dark as 2N gray)

One NAA, I had Rustoleum gloss white and 'smoke grey' in the shop.
I just added a little smoke grey to the white to get a nice
light gray. sorta like UD's pic

No spray gun here, cheap dutchman too. Got Ford Light Grey from TSC, started with it tonight, rolling with low nap roller on fenders and hood. It's much whiter than what I had, but, it's readily available, and I am sure I will like it. One coat on, looks good.
