I'd written a while back about my 8 not starting. Took the bull by the horns today. Found that only 1 plug seemed to really give a good spark. New battery and mostly all new ignition parts, even have the good wires. Took the torch to them because I"d suspected that due to bad battery, I'd fouled them, and, due to the carb issues (wont stay running unless choke out). Fired the plugs, reinstalled. Then took the carb out, and the main gasket was good, but, seemed wet on the end toward air intake, and was a bit torn up there. Made a new one, cleaned all ports with spray, took the seat out, I do have a gasket, reinstalled everything.

Started right up.

Long story short-poor battery in addition to the carb issues together may have fouled the plugs. Sometimes it's not so simple.
