Throttle Issue

My 8N has a throttle issue I need advise on. It ran and worked fine up until now.

I thought the throttle was sticking and when I increased the throttle speed it stayed up. I can move the throttle lever at the steering wheel, but it simply stays at a high rpm. Do I need to replace the governor? Might it be something else?

Any advise would be appreciated.

Look at all of the linkage between the steering wheel and carb . One of the links may have come loose.

I would check the linkages first--then look at the carb to make sure nothing is stuck, broken or hung up. could be a spring that broke loose etc.....

It not likely the governor. It's probably the linkage as RGeiger said or the throttle plate/rod that needs repair.

Thank you for the replies. I will look at all the linkage again although I already looked at it once and don"t think that is it. I had not given much thought to the carburetor being the issue, but I will check it as well.

I didn"t think it was the carb because I increased the throttle a little and it didn"t go back down when I turned the throttle back. Being the bright guy I am, I did that several times and now it is stuck at a high rpm even though I can easily move the throttle handle.

Thanks again for the suggestions. I"ll let you know how it works out.
