1948 8N at auction

Today I was watching the Russo and Steele car auction at live.russoandsteele.com They compete with Barrett Jackson.

The first thing on the auction block for Friday was a 1948 8N. One owner. It was nicely restored etc.

It sold for $12,000 dollars. I was amazed.

Some people have more money than smarts. That's got to be a reacord for an 8N.

They call that restored and they can't even find an original set of hat rims to put back on it? Also they don't even know what year it is and they supposedly restored it. Serial number 8N159153 makes it a 1949, not a 1948. You would think they would atleast know this much.

I like the auctioneers comment "ran good last time it ran, (or when parked)", of course it could have been 1,5 or 20 years ago.
