Hello all,

Just wondering if someone can help me.
My exhaust manifold glows red after a while and the radiator over boils.
Engine idles okay when I adjust the throttle but I can remember a few years back that I changed the champion spark plugs to a NSK not sure if this might have something to do with it. Can someone please advise me what spark plugs I should be using if they believe that this may be the problem.

James........didja know there's a "Fordson" board??? Except I believe it is for the EARLY Fordson 1919-1932? NOT the ENGLISH Fordson of after WW2. Surprizingly enuff, the English Fordson was designed to drive on the LEFT side of the road. tink'bout itt!!!

Howsomevers; castiron exhaust manifolds do gitt HOT and glow RED (burnie-burnie) specially in twilite or nitetime. Seldom seen in daylite altho they are just as HOT.

Sparkies have 'nuttin' to do with yer RED HOT manifold ...or... yer radiator boiling over. While we recommend AutoLite 743's for the flathead N-Tractor engine, I don't remember the "reach" of the English Ford sparkies. Could be 3/4" of thread (reach) 'stedda 7/16" reach of the recommended AutoLite 437's (gapped 0.025") for flatheads.

Most likely cause of radiator boiling over is loose fanbelt. You do know how to tighten yer fanbelt, don't you??? (1/2"-thumb deflection) ........respectfully, Dell, yer self-appointed sparkie-meister
