8N fuel pump

This is the first time I've heard about a bad fuel pump on an 8N.

Either gravity doesn't work in Arkansas or it has an industrial engine transplant with a fuel pump! Most likely a clogged fuel line - plus other problems.

I think the seller made a misprint on the number of years the "so-called" fuel pump went out. Just add a 4 in front of the 2, making is 42 years. Look closely and you might see a tree stump that was once a twenty foot tree had grown up under the tractor.

is he trying to say that it ran out of fuel, or gravity quit working in this tractor?

ot very likely as the jeeps with the N engine were essentially prototypes & small in number (4,456 out of the 650,000 WWII total) & once production ramped up with the 'chosen' Willys engine, most of those with Ford N engined jeeps were shipped to allies so that we didn't have to provide logistics for the 'orphans', & with no parts available they soon disappeared. Note: Ford actually was a manufacturer, among others, of the Willys designed engine.

I came across one of those Ford GPs a couple of years ago. Elderly father of a guy I sold a tractor owned it and let me have a gander at it.
It was in a dark shed so the pics could be brighter but...
