Simple question-when gas is turned on, and then after a bit, it drips out of the bottom of the bowl, that's not normal, correct? I've tested the float and it's good. Suggestions?
It's starting poorly and misses while running. Never used to do this.

NOT normal.

Float my be binding or "heavy", needle and seat may have debris between them or are worn out, or the seat may simply not be screwed T-I-G-H-T against it's gasket.

Eriklane.......didja know iff'n yer engine runs, you will NEVER gitt dripps??? Why? 'cuz yer carb suction will sucker-up.

You will gitt drips iff'n you OVERFLOW yer carb due to leaky float valve. (gravity never rests) Biggest cause of leaky float valve is NOT TITE ENUFF!!!

There are many causes of poor starting and missing. you did not provide enuff info. Keep yer ittchy-twitchy fingers off'n them handy-dandy carb tweek-us. ........Dell

I took the carb off and the float is light and free. Everything is clean. I removed the needle and seat-it was tight. Replaced it-the O-ring is present. Everything appears ok, but, it still floods out. I tightened the seat as tight as possible. There's really not much to these-if the float lifts properly, it'll shut off the gas. So, bad float or loose seat, or bad O-ring I suppose are the only 3 things that can cause gas dripping out the bottom, correct? I'm thinking of a new O-ring.

Like Bob said, the float may be rubbing/binding on the inside of the
bowl when assembled.
When you put it together, turn it up and down,
hear the float moving freely?
When I am done rebuilding, before I put it on the tractor,
I hold it right side up and blow in the gas inlet,
should blow freely,
turn it upside down and blow again,
shouldn't be able to blow air in then.
passes.....it gets installed

Took the carb off, and apart. Did both tests, fine. Back together, and took a hose and blew through it into the inlet-hard-nothing...Double checked the float-it's fine. Opened fuel line-no leaks. Started after 20 seconds. Ran down the driveway, few sputters and stuff...shut off, and it wouldn't start-now, leaking again out of bottom.

NOWHAT?
