Limiter chains for bushhog. Anyone have pictures???

search archives for limiter chains and look at the thread dated 6/20 and Oldtankers post. He has picture showing both limiter chanis and height chains.

Well I don't know that I searched the archives but I did do a search and came across this post that was very very helpful. I hope it helps someone else out as well.

Great photos.

I don't like to put that kind of stress on the rocker, so on my 640 my chains run forward up over the diffy and come together in a big quicklink through one of the holes in the seat spring strap.

Course this will scratch some paint, but that's not a problem on my old stuff:)

what kind of stress do you think is n that rocker when lifting that 800# mower.. or when pulling 2 bottoms thru clay?

it's a tractor .. work it.

The pins on my cutter were too short to put chains, lower lift arms, and stabilizer bars together. Rather than get longer pins, I moved the brackets for the chains under the nut. Added advantage, the chains stay attached to the cutter and can't get lost.

Made some limiters today have to go buy the 1/4" chain
tomorrow just happened to have a 1" drill bit from a previous
bushhog project.

I took a picture with my iPhone but don't know how to load
them from my iPhone.

I used some angle iron for the top brakets wanted the 90degree to help with strength. Used some old lawn mower blades for the bottom brakets. Hard to drill these hard pieces. I have since welded the chain onto the bottoms and painted them. However I used the wrong piece to check the size on the bottom holes. They are too small. Will make the holes bigger today and re paint then install them on the bushog. Thanks for the help with the pictures.

Glad to have been able to provide Sean's pictures for you.

I'm having to re make the rear brackets that I already have chains on. I used old lawn mower blades and well lets just say unless I go spend a bunch of money on a 1" carbide bit I ain't cutting a bigger hole. I snuck over to the house yesterday while at work and cut two more pieces of angle iron and intend on using the drill press at work with my non carbide 1" drill bit to drill new holes. I'll cut the chain off (glad I left the chain long) the lawnmower blade pieces and re weld to the pieces I'm going to go make here in a little wihle. I'll have the mower up and running on my recently adjusted lift in no time. Thanks for all the help.
