8N front bumper

Our 8N has always had a weighted bumper installed.
Lately, I have needed to move a boat which requires a trailer hitch ball installed.

I have thought about installing the stock bumper. Also, can someone point me to a decent contact to purchase a stock front bumper?

Many thanks.

Close reproductions of the OEM 8N bumper are available from any Sparex dealer. No, Sparex does not sell directly to consumers.

How about welding or bolting a piece of angle iron onto the center of the existing bumper and add a trailer ball on the flat part of the angle. That is a nice looking bumper on the tractor.

I made my own out of an old leaf spring. I park my pontoon boat and flat bed trailer where I have to go through a really narrow gate. Pushing it through with this makes it really easy.

I envy you talented types that can make your own bumper. I do have the material to form an hitch myself. Thanks for the idea Carson.

Looking at the shadow of the bumper gives a little to the weight of the bumper.

Our Host has two different styles to choose front, look in the parts, check your tractor make, model , look at the one that states grilles etc. and you will see the two.

why not just weld a tab with a ball hole on it to the bumper you already have?

cheaper than buying a new bumper...

I bought this one when I was wanting to put one on a 8N but never got around to it and the tractor is gone now. I bought it as, an "Original Antique Ford 8N 9N 2N Tractor Front Bumper" from Everitt Tractors. Now, it doesn't look like an original to me because, as I understand it (but I certainly do not know it all or much of anything compared to many of you), the original bumpers were riveted and not welded and this one is welded so I may have got took. It has happened before.
To shorten the story, I'm willing to part with it if you're willing to accept an "original" dent on the right side (looking at the front) bottom strap. It is heavy and the shipping would be a bit I recon but I'll look into it if you're interested. It does look old and probably is older but may not be from the early 40s or 50s. I paid too much because I wanted authenticity so I will take a loss on it. E-mail me if interested. Gene
