9N tractor rims

I inherited a 9N from my dad & have finally got it going again. I need new front rims & tires, but am having problems finding replacements that I can afford. Is it possible to use different rims & tires if I change out the hub assembly? And if so, any suggestions? Thanks for the advice--

8N hubs will fit just fine. I think it will be cheaper to find replacement rims though. If you change the hubs, you will still need to buy rims.

you can put 8n FRONT hubs on the 9n.. it's a direct swap.. and then use common implement rims.. however.. by the time you swap hubs AND buy rims .. I think it will be a wash vs just buying new front rims to fit a 9n.

8n front hubs are 65$ each, and 16" rims are about 55$ each.. plus shipping

9n front rims are 117$ each plus shipping. you will pay about 3$ more for teh hubs and rims.. PLUS pay extra on shipping... thus making the swap cost a lil more as I said.

if you ALREADY had salvageable front 16" rims or 8n hubs off a perter or soemthing.. then yeah..

ps.. some 30's ford car/truck hubs will ALSO fit the N.. but i don't have a list of what will or won't fit.

those were prices from this site.

1936-1939 ford, mercury, and light ford truck front hubs will fit on botn 8n and 9n front spindles, keep in mind that the passenger car/light truck front hubs also had the brake drums and hubs cast as one piece the drums on these can be turned off on a lathe to make them appear very similar to the originals, you will have to use 36-39 ford wheels on these as the bolt circle is different from tractor to car/ light truck.

These come up on ebay frequently. My experience is that steering is easier with the 19x4 tires.

i have a near complete 194? tractor minus the engine and a few parts+ a broken bell housing....

short story is...wife wants it gone out of the yard. if you need the front end parts i have them, hit me up. i can give you phone number and make a deal on them, i hate to see them go to the metal scrap yard... but she will win ...with time...

i have a 1942 with the front & rear lugnut pattern, i-beam radius arms, and the button head bolts to the drum brakes are the same as the donor tractor.

give me a call, my cell is 405-488-7919 i will work on a total price to save the part from being scraped.

the front tires are 19x4
