Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me come to a decision on this. I found a really nice 2 row cultivator at a great deal. I just don't know if it would be too much to pull with my 8N. The cultivator is around 8 foot but I was thinking that I could take the blades off the back and just use one row. Thanks fer yalls time.

All Fords can handle 2 row cultivators. Heres a picture of a 1939 "Ferguson" 2 row solid shank cultivators, setup with "sweeps I like, with Dearborn rotary hoes and Ottawana side dresser.

An N tractor should pull a 2 row cultivator, without too much trouble. You may have to limit the depth at first, but after the first pass,it'll be easier.---lha

If I could only have One tool for gardening it would be a cultivator. Set the lift to draft mode. My cousin uses an old Ferguson 2 row to till his garden every year.
First pass shallow, second pass deeper. Set it too deep and it will STOP his 40 hp John Deere.
Makes a great garden bed.
Great tool for deer plots too. And for use as a rake for pulling brush into piles.
If the price is right buy it!
In this economy I have seen the price of tractors steadily decline. But good useable impliments have not declined at all. If anything they have continued to go up in value. So you can always get your $ back.

I use one every year in our commercial garden. I prefer my disc, but the cultivator really hits the grass roots good.
