I recently purchased what I believe to be a '41 9N.
My serial # seems to have been double stamped on the first digit or
something # 9N554495* anyone ever seen this before? Any info
would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking at my FO-4(which,in my opinion all N-owners should have)and from what I can tell, the first no.was deleted, because that's too many digits. The stamping must have been done by rookies because it is very crude.Subtracting the first 5 you do have a 41 same as mine S#45976-88887---lha

Thank you for the reply. I do have the FO 4 and I agree it is a must have. I was just curious if anyone had, or ever seen a double stamped number. I just wanted to verify that the first digit was obsolete.
Thanks again

Given your no.,the highest no.is 105412 for 9n,258504 for 2n,and 442035 for 8n.So if you don't have a screwed up no.,then it is not a9n,2n,or 8n Are you aquainted with these tractors? My sereal no.,which I didn't write down, but will was hard to find and harder to read.If they put stars or other marks,I could'nt find it.---lha

I have an 8N that has a double stamp on the second #. Hard to tell which is the intended #. Date codes on the tractor will give you a close date and may help figure the intended #. HTH

Thanks I was just wondering if it had been seen before. I was pretty sure thats what happened just by the way the first two digits were so close to each other and the fact that its the same #

Thanks all
