'53 NAA Minor oil leaks

After finally cleaning all the grime off an NAA I purchased last year I can now see some minor oil leaks. The first is between the mating surfaces from the engine to bell housing. I'm assuming this is a rear main seal. The front seal appears to have a small drip also.
Just behind the clutch/flywheel there is a square pattern of very heavy bolts with lock washers. Looks like something heavy was intended to be affixed here. Anyway there is also a drip coming from a couple of them. Just what are the purpose of these bolts? I had assumed that they didn't even go into the above compartment but they must if oil is coming out. could this be coming from the rear main leak and exiting back here?
These are very minor leaks, maybe one drop every two days if just sitting there not in use.
Right now money is a bit tight so I don't want to deal with this until next year if they can wait.

I don't know if those holes are blnd or open.. but I know some things attach there.. a ford 711 or 722 loader for instance uses those bolts.

also.. a leaky trans input shaft seal.. or rear main will weep into the bellhousing 'dry' area and should dribble out the lil hole with a cotter key jiggling around in it.

Thanks for reply.
Okay then. As I understand it, if the holes are blind it could/would indicate a crack in the casting. Possibly from loader abuse. If they are open then it is probably the same leaking seals just finding another exit.
Given that the leaks seem very small I'm hoping that the clutch isn't affected before I can see to things next year. But tomorrow I think I will pull one of those bolts just to see if it's open.
Thanks again, Ian

That sounds like it'd be a total non-concern to me. The small leaks you describe aren't an issue. I wish some of my tractors only leaked that much. Put a pice of cardboard under it so it doesn't make a mess on the floor and forget it.

Don't have too. That's where the dog sleeps. To judge loss of oil I can just measure the oil spot on the back of the dog

sometimes oil will run down the bellhousing drain. and then drip off those bolts.

as long as the drain stays open and it isn't excessive.. the clutch should be ok .. if it does get wet.. it me be grabby or slow to release.. if so.. start blocking the clutch when not in use to counter that effect.
