2N rattling foot rest

So, my Son Mutt got a used set of foot rests for Olie, his 1945 2N. We started to fit them up for straightening as they came to us sort of bent up and rusty. We got them straight, but they just would not stay where they were put and wanted to rock from side to side and rattle around on the foot pegs. We decided we needed to add some positive support to the front of the footrests. We cut some angle iron and drilled it out to fit over the lower foot peg stud:

Then we held the foot rest in place and marked the hole for a short bolt:

Once it is all together, the foot rest is solid and feels like it is part of the tractor, you can put all your weight on it and it stays put!

UH huh.....so what you are really doin' is.....makin' me take mine off, and re-doing the ugly fix I did to mine!!! BUMMER, I got mine to work good, but the area at the end of hangers, don't look very professional, with the hanger bent down tight against the foot pegs.
You guys are a PITA!!!
Well ya know what I'll be doin' tomorrow!!!!

Not sure if I want to know what a "PITA" is, but I hope it's good.
This fix only came to mind because the stirupps on the running boards take up the whole peg, thus leaving us two dill-weeds to figure something out.
Yall should look at Sven's running boards. Different configuration/ different solution.
